Terms of Use
By using retirementcalc.ca ("the site", "we"), you agree to the terms below. If you don't agree, please don't use the site.
What this site is — and isn't
retirementcalc.ca is an educational and planning tool. The projections, Monte Carlo simulations, and withdrawal scenarios are estimates based on the numbers you enter and historical return assumptions — they are not financial, tax, legal, or personalized investment advice in any way. We are not a financial planning firm or a registered advisor. For decisions about your actual situation, consult a qualified financial planner or advisor.
No guarantee of accuracy
The calculator relies on historical market data and simplified assumptions (rates of return, inflation, registered account tax rules). Actual results will vary — sometimes significantly — from the projections shown. We don't guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or suitability of the results for your situation. The site does not model CPP/QPP, OAS, GIS, or the Allowance; see the disclaimer shown in the Withdrawal section.
Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, retirementcalc.ca and its operators are not liable for any loss or damage arising from use of the site or decisions made based on the results shown. The site is provided "as is," without warranty of any kind.
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use scripts, bots, or other automated means to bulk-scrape the site's content;
- Attempt to bypass the rate limits or security measures on the financial advisor connection form;
- Submit the form with an email address that isn't your own;
- Use the site for unlawful purposes or in a way that impairs its operation.
Intellectual property
The site's code, design, and content belong to retirementcalc.ca unless otherwise noted. You're free to share the results of your own calculations (via the built-in share links).
External links
The site may reference third-party resources (e.g., the CRA website, XEQT/iShares) for informational purposes only. We aren't responsible for the content of those external sites.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Québec and applicable federal laws of Canada, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
